I got my 1938?? serial# 2052 B all apart to examine all the areas ect. So I checked the pistions and there all nice and tight as if they had just rebuilt in the cylinders and then I measured the bore it read 3 3/8" and stroke 3 1/2" So I thought it was the 125 ci. engine. However on the engine number it starts with BE. Is it possible that the person before me put these 125 ci. sleves in? I'm all confused?? Thnaks for the help.
Andrew

Not all that is forsure but many BE engines when overhauled received the 3 3/8" sleeves and pistons after they were available.

Since it has the 3 3/8" sleves and pistions does it have the same specs. as the latter B's as in compression and displacment, ect.
Thanks!

That would be correct as general statment.
I have been checking the depth on the firing chambers on different heads that fit the B"s, C"s, and CA"s. I have found a noticeable difference on some heads that were removed from the CA"S. There is a slight difference from head to head anyway. I should say from firing chamber to firing chamber in the same head. Any change in the firing chamber depth or size will change the actual compression.
I am about to do a picture story on a head, this being the reason for checking the depth, width, and length of the firing chambers in these heads. I am also installing Chevy valves in one of these heads some time in the next few weeks. I have every thing collected except for time.
