I'm ready to buy a great running 1939 Model B. The guys asking $1500 for the tractor plus a non-running spare tractor thrown in for parts.

Question 1) Is that a descent price? Sounds good to me

Question 2) where do I find implements for it...such as a disk or scraper/ripper set up that hooks up to the original tractor (no 3 pt.)?

Any help would be appreciated.....thanks

If it's in good shape and the parts machine is useful, well maybe. Wouldn't hurt to offer a little less.

I dunno if the 1939's had electric starters. If not, be sure you're up to hand cranking.

We had a crank start B for a while and it had a belly mount mower and a single row cultivator. Either one was several hours of grunting to mount or dismount. Some of the other folks on this board might know if Allis had plows for B's, but it seems like they would have. Allis did eventually have something like an unside down 3 point hitch to speed attaching and detaching implements but that was after the B's.

A B is a good solid little tractor but there are handier and more versatile rigs out there.

If the tractor doesn't burn any oil, has good tires, good sheet metal,ect... and has aa spare parts tractor, the price sounds fair. It may still be a good idea to offer $1300 first. Implements for these can be tricky to locate, I would try placing a "wanted" ad on this website in the classified section. Good Luck!
