My recently rebuilt "B" will start first time with a quick bump but it revs far too high. i have tried turning the air screw on my zenith carb but it makes no difference, i cant slow it down. i am running it with no air cleaner at the moment could this be the problem? Can anyone tell me how to adjust the carb? Are there anymore adjustments other than the air screw? The governor seems to be ok and the magneto is set to the FIRE mark visible through the bell housing is there another mark to set this to? any suggestions would be very gratefully recieved as i am running out of ideas fast!!! many thanks Adam.

Does your manifold still have the identification plate on it? A friend of mine had the same problem, and it turned out that he didn't have the i.d. plate mounted, and that allowed outside air to enter the engine unmetered, and it wouldn't idle down. He reinstalled the plate, and it now idles just fine.

You may have to bend (very little) the cross shaft that comes from the govener to. The first adjustment to make however is to the throttle link that is that screw near the throttle lever make (shorter). If this doesent work then bend the cross shaft. I got this info out of the Allis I-T 11 manual. good luck
Andrew
