Saw a classified ad in the last Antique Power Magazine that sort of puzzled me a bit. Some fella is selling 3 Allis G's (one restored, the other two running). Also has 5 implements and a variety of large and small parts. He is asking a total of $13000 but will not separate any of the items, they must be sold together. None of my business I guess, but don't you think he's cutting back drastically on his chance of selling what he wants to get rid of? Why might he not want to sell stuff separately? Never could figure that out but I guess he can do as he wishes.

He may have one that would be hard to sell by itself (probably wants too much for it) and figures that he can get better price as a group. I agree with you Mike that it would probably be easier and faster to break the collection to sell.

Probably because he's asking twice the market value.

I have known a couple like that. One guy said the tractor and implements had all been bought new by him and he wanted someone who would keep them together to have them. He looked at it as a collection. and had a desire to see them kept that way. Another said I gotta put them up for sale but don"t really want to. Anybody who will buy the lot will take good care of them was his reasoning.
