HI FOLKS-

I AM GETTING READY TO PAINT A 1970 180 DIESEL WITH 2500 ORIGINAL HOURS.IT RUNS GREAT WITH NO MAJOR PROBLEMS.IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO AS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AFTER I GET ALL THE SHEET METAL OFF AND BEFORE I PAINT IT THAT MAY SAVE ME TIME AND TROUBLE LATER.I THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING THE RADIATOR RECORED AND REPLACING BELTS AND HOSES BUT DON'T KNOW FOR SURE.THANKS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Unless your radiator is causing problems, I'd leave it alone. Make sure you have no leaks or seeping oil anywhere as this will screw up a paint job quickly. All traces of oil or lube need to be removed.
Let the (new) belts go until after it's painted.
If the original hoses were painted orange (instead of left un-painted) and you want to replace them, then by all means put them on now.
Good luck on a nice find.
