I got some problems with my Allis B (Fair - Banks FMJ mag) in that I had very little spark so I changed the condesor, points. and wires going to the plugs. I think I hooked it up right with three wires going to the points, and meshed the gears corectly. Any idea why I have no spark at all now?
thanks for the help!!
Andrew

Andrew,
Where everything comes together at the contacts, make sure you don't have one of the wires grounding out to the housing. It's pretty tight in that spot. Clean the contacts with tuner cleaner. There might be residue on them. Also, make sure the mag kill switch wasn't the culprit. Try starting the tractor with the switch disconnected. If she fires right up, it might be a bad kill switch. We have the switches in stock if ya need one. There's a couple things to check..

Also check to make sure your impulse coupler is working. At cranking speed this device on the mag allows a hotter spark by winding up then releasing the shaft at the time of firing. If you slowly hand crank the engine you should be able to hear the coupler release with a snap.Once the engine starts up the impulse coupler disengages.
