Hello, I got my CA running today after I changed the oil, filter and manifold. It did not have any oil pressure when I started it again. I took the oil pressure guage off and cranked it over, and WATER came out of the hole. I did replace with an Agco filter, so I know th filter is th correct one.

WHAT GIVES HERE????

Let me know what you think!

THANKS!!!

Bill

OK, thanks for the help, I found the problem. It is one of the casting plugs in the head. Boy was I relieved. Just a little hole, but it was leaking like crazy.

THANKS AGAIN!

Jay, thanks for the response. The old oil did have water in it, but I thought it was from a poorly fitting exhaust pipe. It has not been freezing here. I took out my drain plug, and LOTS of water came out. I just read about the casting plugs in the head, and pulled my valve cover off. I don't think that they are leaking. What else could it be? I did not see any white smoke in the exhaust, so I do not think that water is getting into my cylinders.

Did your tractor have the wrong exhaust pipe and muffler, it is important too have the right one for a CA it is the one that bolts too the side of the manifold. If they had the wrong one it could have very well let water in, That is what happened too mine when I got it. I had too clean my engine out with a flush of Kerosene 2 times them put oil in and ran for a hour then change the oil again. If you still see a milky oil Tom is right pull the pan off and look for water around the sleves. You may be lucky and it just be the wrong exhaust.

If the head plugs are not leaking it is possible the leak is around the bottom of the liners where they seal to the block, O rings. Or it could be a cracked block. You may be able to see if you pull the pan, if it is a slow leak though it may be difficult.

2 questions #1 did the old oil have water in it,#2 has it been freezing there were your at.
If old oil; had water you have other problems , if its been freezing ther you could of had some condensation freeze at the filter housing an it thawed and can out .
