Did anybody see the AC "B" in the photo ads? They want $5,000 for it. By the picture it looks like a "C" to me. Has the 5 lug rear wheel centers and an adjustable wide front. I guess you can ask for the moon, especially if you have no idea what you have.

Well, it's a nice looking little tractor, but knowing their going rate, I think I'll pass. Besides, already have one, and after repairing the mag yesterday, mows the lawn with a vengence again. Think I'll keep 'er.

One could argue though, go into Home Depot and can pickup a small, plastic, 5 year life expectency Deere garden tractor for more than that.

Good luck to the guy, and many more happy years to her with whomever buys her.

Mark

$5000 for an AC B? I always hear about Ebay and people getting big bucks there. Will someone actually pay $5000 for a B?

The later B's with adjustable wide fronts used the C style rear hubs/centers to allow for a greater number of wheel spacings. I don't know how many are out there, but have seen quite a few on Ebay over the last couple of years, and I have 3 Bs with the adjustable wide fronts and 2 of them have the C style rear wheels.

It looks like my B, 1956 ser.#127155 (1956)I have a narrow rear end with the 5 lug axle on a older tractor too. the last Cs were made in 1948 I think.
