1755, I'm a little confused too. I have had similar happenings with a "B" or "C" model that just had the adapter to make the small size PTO shaft come up to the standard size. If the roll pin was not in right to hold the adapter on, the drive shaft on the implement would not slide all the way on and if run like that it will break the adapter. I would think that all "CA" tractors had the standard size PTO but am not sure. Could it be that you have an overrun clutch extention on and maybe the drive shaft of the mower was not locked on and buggered up the shaft on the over run clutch. If its broken enough bolts over time I'm sure it could have worn the splines badly. Dale

I've read your situation a couple of times and am having a hard time visualizing the problem. When you mounted the Woods, weren't you able to find a shiv so you wouldn't need an extension. The PTO was not planned for a side load with the extension. The intention was to deliver rotary motion with little to no side load.

I'd sure like to see a picture of your set up and the failed parts before I could speculate on the cause. These splines are pretty tough. The bolts are intented only to hold the splines together - not to deliver power.

My email is open.

I never looked for another shaft the pto extention was on there and it fit never thought twise grandpa had to use an extention to use the pto on his MM at all and It never hert it but the pto on the CA is higher and when mowing the grass about 4-6 in there is maby 8-10 in drop in the 24 in shaft or something like that the 3pt semes like the arms are alitel long it lookes like about 6in or so and is cadigory 2
the extention is just an extention about the same as an overruning cluth
