Finally got the Crawler M running and crawling. What a kick. Problem is after a few minutes of forward speed the trans grinds so bad I can"t stuff it in reverse unless I shut her down.? Tried letting it idle for a while then shift into R but still no luck.

Any clue?

I won't say that's normal but I've lived with something similar on my HD-7W for the 8 or so years I've had it. I have bring the idle down as low as possible then stretch my leg to down to the back of engine case (for leverage) and pull the clutch way over-center as hard as I can. It will then let me get it in reverse. Obviously both of us need to do some clutch adjustment but I know how that is with the crawler, not inviting at all. Nothing is accessible on mine and maybe the M is similar.
