I am wanting to put a 230 gas motor from a A2 Gleaner in an old WD45 that has a bad motor. I thought this would be easy. After taking the bellhousing off of the 230 engine, I see the flywheel is totally different, and bolts to the crank differently than a 4 cyl tractor. Will a WD45 diesel flywheel work on the 230 gas engine to solve my fitup problems? Otherwise I will have to do a LOT of machining on the 230 flywheel to get the tractor starter and clutch to work. I saw a WC on RFD TV that had the 6 cyl, looked really good. Thanks for advice.

You might try Austin Farms, Bulter Mo. They advertise on Unoffical Allis I think. Found them very good to deal with. I have both items but am still undecided if I will rebuilt my diseal. HB.

Doing that as we speak, not hard with right parts, you need 45D adapter plate, flywheel and starter to hook to bell housing, you will have to noch the left rail so the oil filter and gover will fit. If it is a tricyle front notch the webbing of pedistal to clear pully. If the front is wide and from a desiel no changes are needed. You can use your gas rad. , but have to be creative to fit, desiel rad. matches up to 230 engine. You will need to make new front moter mounts, if you drop the orginal anglebracket fron a gas unit, front tires will not clear. Don'tpicture capability or would send photo's. Phone is 479-846-4044 if I can assist that way. Best to call evenings, CST. Good Luck. H.B.

Thanks for the info H.B. I thought maybe the parts from a 45 diesel would fix me up. Do you know of any source for a flywheel and motor plate?
Thanks AA
