I have an Allis CA with an oil pump that loses its prime and will not pump oil. IF I remove one of the lines and pour oil into it, it will pump. First question what causes such a problem? Second can it be fixed without replacing the pump? Third If I have to replace it where do I get one? Fourth what should the oil pressure be? Fifth what should the clearance be on the inside of the pump between the walls and the fins/wings. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

You probably have a cracked oil pick up tube which would cause it to loose prime. Then when you fill a line with oil it picks up till you shut it off again then the oil drains out of the pick up and you loose prime again. I would pull the pan and have a look at the pickup and maybe even remove it to have a real good look at it.
