Is a 1953 WD with the WD45 transmission and
snap coupler hard to find? How many like this were made?
Thanks.

All WD's of about the last year of production were equipped with the constant mesh (curved lever) transmission...therefore not all that rare..just means it's a newer WD. If you want the exact number, e-mail me. As for the snap coupler, all WD's and even early WD-45's were not factory equipped with the snap coupler. They had the old pin hitch where you had to put the pin through the tongue of the implement yourself. After the snap coupler was developed, most of the other older tractors were converted. It just involved attaching the snap coupler housing to the hitch point with the pin you'd normally use. In fact, once the conversion was made, they were exactly like the ones that came from the factory already equipped. So I guess it wasn't really as much of a conversion as an addition of a new part.
