How much oil pressure should a Model B Allis have? Idle, and wide open.
Thanks Gary

But don't worry if you only have a little, as long as the needle moves you are OK. I have seen them run with the needle only up to the lower line of normal when cold and barely move when warm. If the bearings are worn this can happen, expecially the camshaft bearings as the oil goes through the camshaft to the other bearings. All you need to do is make sure you have flow and not worry much about pressure.

Mine always read about 15-18 before I put the Allis imitation gauge back on it that just says 'normal'.

a B in very good condition will have 15 psi when cold. when hot it will drop to 10-12 psi. mine holds 10 psi at an idle when hot. you should ahve over 5. less than that and you may have some troubles coming.
