I am having a problem with the retaining rings popping off on the spline shaft of the 3 point. Both sides have now come off twice. I mowed today about 3 hours and it popped off again. I check the groove and it appears ok. I put on new retaining rings but have already lost one of them. Any suggestions or fixes? Is this a known problem with the 190XT? I am only pulling a 7' brush hog in light cutting.

Some retaining rings (also snap rings) have a sharp edge and a rounded or beveled edge. If the sharp edge is not opposite the part being retained, it can pop off under impact or heavy load.

I"ve never had the problem on my 190XT. How much end play do you have when assembled? You may need to shim behind the arms. As BCnT said, the splines may be worn.

only thing i can think of is slop in splines and shaft allowing them to move and work clip off or a bad batch of clips...if it was me i'd drill em both for roll pins if everything else checks out.
