Would you comment on this fuel situation for my 185 please? After bleeding lines (not at injectors, only at bleeder screws on the filter, and the Rossa Master pump lower side) and priming with pump, motor starts and runs for 2 minutes, then dies due to lack of fuel. I can pump again, and restart motor for another 2 minute time. Has my Roosa Master gone out? I did not run out of fuel before this situation occurred.

The forum entries found with the search of "Bleeging the diesel fuel lines" have been really helpful so far. Thanks to all those who have amde time to offer their knowledge in those postings!

Upon further testing, fuel flows from the return line atop the pump. Both with operation of the primer pump when motor is stopped, or when engine is running (flow when engine running looks clear and has good volume).

Is there a check valve at the tank where the return line goes?

see if you have fuel in oil check valves on return could be stuck or seals out of pump

are you getting return flow to tank? too much fuel isnt good either...pull return line at pump and check it for debris...if theres anything in there its time to have pump serviced.

Should I see fuel in the return line?

Should I expect to see fuel flow to the return line when working the primer pump?

I plan to remove the return line from the pumnp, and work the primer pump to see if fuel flows thru the injector pump.

Another entry in the "bleeding the diesel fuel line" forum search talked about a check valve getting clogged.
