Are you talking about a gas engine? I think that the 6 cyl 230 cu. in. gas engine is a "wet sleeve" engine. You may be able to bore this engine (or bore the sleeves), but, I do not think that it is recommended. I think that this engine uses a counter-weighted (balanced) crankshaft and turns faster than a lot of the other tractor engines, so it would be a good idea to stay with pistons intended (that are the proper weight) for this engine. A few years ago I checked on a sleeve and piston set with rings, piston pins and "O" rings for a 6 cyl 230 Buda Gas engine. The sets were available in standard size (3 7/16 inches) and two different oversizes (3 1/2 and 3 9/16 inches) all used 4 rings per piston. At one time the oversize sleeve kits were quite popular and were made by M & W, Allied, Thompson, and McQuay. I think that some may still be available, you might try Central Tractor (CT), Tractor Supply Co. (TSC), or the parts suppliers that advertise here on this forum. Some independent auto, truck, and industrial engine parts suppliers will probably be able to help you also. Good luck, be safe, have fun, Gordon

Hey where can I find those overbore pistons? i have a 6bd230 diesel that has the 3 1?2 inch pistons, and I can't find them anywhere. Buda says they didn't use them in those engines.
