Thanks to all the info on this site I was able to date the back half of my C (1948). However, the engine was introduced to the trans 15 years ago. I can't seem to zero-in on the year of the motor. CE41381G is what I can see and its a wide front end. Any ideas?

Best guess on motor is mid 1945 - its a CE motor originally set up for Gas (G) - probably same as original 1948 configuration - later motors with higher Compression were GA and then PA suffixes. FYI best guess for 1948 motor s/n CE80000-CE90000 range

Grills are not the same, C has a cut out for the steering arm that's beside grill, B is solid on the bottem . H.B.

Yes but both will bolt on to either tractor and if you don't know what your looking at its not going to matter. Now yes if your worried about it look 100% right ya but this is a mutt tractor any how so either type will work in this case since its not a factory made tractor

Its a mag. So, the front half of the tractor is a B - Hmmm, interesting. I'm looking for a front grill. I suppose I should be looking for a B grill vs. a C grill?

I think the grills are the same on both of them. By the way I have 2 grills on in my shop I'd sell. They came off of a C, since I used 3 Cs to build one good C. From what I know the B/C used the same sheet metal, the same engine but the rear end and tranny on the C was a little differant. The rear end is wider and I think the tranny gears are a little lower gear ratio on the C

The wide front is probably off a B, same engine as the C. As far as the year its no big deal since parts for them is parts for them no matter what year it be. But thing like knowing if its amg type ignition or distubutor type make a differance.
