Where is a good place to get an Allis Chalmers G hydraulic pump repaired/rebuilt? Thanks.

Thank you for the schematic diagram for the allis G pump. I think it will be quite helpful.

Thank you for the reply. The pump looks like it might be in reasonably good shape....nothing stuck and not excessively dirty inside. Due to the extreme tightness of the bolts, it looks like it might be a bit difficult getting it apart without breaking off any bolts. I am going to try some KROIL and a big dose of patience before getting too serious about trying to get it apart! Any other suggestions you might have will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

You didn"t mention what the problem was but if it"s the relief valve, sometimes foreign particles will get caught and keep it from seating correctly. I think the G uses a ball and spring so that would be the first place I"d look. If that"s true it"s a cheap fix.

It"s hard to find someone to work on an old pump but a lot of times it"s pretty obvious once you break them down. I don"t like the gear pumps much because if a part ends up being the problem, you have to find a machine shop for resurfacing and helping figure a way to get rid of too much play. It can be done though.
