I was given a 1948 Allis B with a Loader on it and rear weights. The tractor was in not running when I got however I thought he what the heck I spend a few hours and see if I can get it running. Anyway I got it running! and it runs pretty good. decent oil pressure and no leakes in the radiator. I put some hydro oil in the loader for hahaha's I was not expectiong it to work, yet it did!! the loader is running off of the PTO with a seperate pump. The loader its self has a power bucket, and down pressure on the arms. My quesiotn is this a decent loader tractor? Im not really sure what to expect? was thinking that this would be a good snow plowing tractor? will it have any traction?

Thanks

Andrew

I'd load the tires, get a set or two of WD rear wheel weights, and a set of chains and go for it.
The B is one of the toughest little tractors ever built by AC

I've got a B with a henderson ldr. on it that runs off the rear pto that goes into a pony keg type resevoir. works great. i built forks for the front, along with the push blade. Going to put bucket on it also. I plan on using it for small jobs like moving a little sand or anything a wheel barrel could do only alot easier. i put some things on a pallet to move. It's the cats meow. Now i only have to get my tractor running again. chains are a MUST, with any tractor.

That loader will be good for small stuff, maybe 1000lbs max if that much. With the right weights etc it should do well for snow. Something like a V plow of that loader would work best and filling the rear tires with fluid would go a long ways. I have a C with a stright blade up front and the other day when I tried to use it for the snow all I could do was spin I didn't have cahins on it and no fluid in the tires. But there was also about 3 inches of ice under the snow so I can see why it didn't go any place. I ended up useing my Ford 841 with the V plow and fluid in the tires and chains to move the snow/ice
