fair price for a snap coupler 3 pt

I have a D15 AC. Have used a snap coupler mounted 3 pt since I got the tractor 20 years ago. Have always had to switch between 3 pt and drawbar depending on what work we had for the tractor. Doing that job alone got real old.

Recently bought a 3 point that can stay on the tractor with the drawbar. A neighbor wants to buy the snap coupler 3 point. Haven't seen many of these for sale on line. What's a fair price for both of us for this 3 point?

Thanks

Al

i looked at several of them before finding a nice one for an d-19 restoration and most were in the $100 to $150 area with the best and straitest one for $130 at a swap meet in indiana. that was a year and a half ago. i only payed 150 for a nice 5x14 snap coupler plow at the same time.

There is one of these on Ebay right now (auction #260065907727). He is advertising it for a D-17 but it would probably work of a WD or a WD-45. He has his starting bid at $150 but has no bids - early in the auction. Should be a good gauge of value.

If it is an original AC and not welded or bent up and has a leveling crank that is in good condition I'd say $300. I've seen some on ebay go for more. AC top links with the round wheel are going for well over $100. Good original stuff is getting hard to find.

Alan, I don't want to offend you. I bought a WD with that type of 3 point that fits in the snap coupler. It took me a month but I cut it up and remade it so that I could leave on the drawbar which I use just as much as the 3 point.

Now for value. To me it is zero. But I have a friend that paid $200 for one (way to much).

This must be an early design because every commecially available 3 point is designed to retain the drawbar.

I'd say he would get a good deal at $100. I think you'd get a lot more than it is worth if you got $150. Maybe $125 would be fair.

You can make your own for about $140 and it would be a lot better three point than the snap coupler variety.

Denny
