Is there an easy way of cleaning a fuel tank on a 180 diesel? This tractor has been sittng for years. We redone the engine with new piston-sleeve kit--was rusted solid.Have gotten it running rather well, but there is alot of crud in the tank.It runs out of fuel because the lines plug.We can't continue like this because I know evetually it will mess up the injector pump.Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks Al from Maine

Take it to a radiator shop. They can boil it out with acid, presure test it, and fix any leaks

take the tank off and then throw about a pound of 1/4 inch nuts and a gallon or so of fuel then shake the living s**t out of it, that will loosen up the junk then you mite want to try the prep/sealer that they sell to seal the tank after it is clean.

The best way I found to clean out a tank was to get about a gallon or 2 of rocks that are hard not gravel and strap it to the back of a ATV and find a good kid and put him on there and have him run around on a ruff disk field to get a good bounsing for a half hour or so then flip tank over and repeat
