We have got it to run, cleaned the fuel tank, then developed a oil leak from steering control valve. It had 2 broken bolts on the end cap towards the engine. We drilled through the broken bolt to use an easy-out with no luck.We then disassembled it to remove the broken bolts.Replaced the bolts, reinstaled on tractor, now the steering shakes violently and spins like it is now a hydralic motor. It will turn all the way right, then all the way left. There's so much pressure in it I can not hold it from spinning or shaking.
It worked fine before we removed it to fix the oil leak. Any thoughts or info will be appreciated.
Thanks Al from Maine

I think you have to align the parts in a specific way when you put it back together.

Thanks for reply. It has steel lines the way they are positioned,no way to cross them.We did completely disassemble it looking for something to make it not work after the third time of trying it.I didn't see anything that could be put in wrong, except the part that looks a pump could be reversed. They look same either way.I am lost, doesn't make sense.
Thanks Al

I would start with checking to make sure that the lines are hooked up correctly. It could be that you accidentally switched one or two and it is making it a motor now. Also, how far did you disassemble it? Did you get so far as to taking all the "guts" out of the inside? If so, it is possible that something got put back in upside down or in the wrong place. I have taken apart a ford steering motor for a 6610, and there are a few parts that can be put back incorrectly pretty easily, so I would assume it would be the same for the 180.
