I found an old tractor in an old barn. It was a strange
looking tricycle type tractor with a bit of dark green
paint on the frame. The owner said it was an A-C model
10-18 but I have never heard of it. He also told me that it started hard, but ran. It seemed to have all original parts. He was willing to sell it for $3,000. Is this a good price? Is the tractor rare? Does anyone
have information about it??? Thanks!

I think my leg is a little longer. Sounds a little too good to me.

: try findin as many hens teeth. i dont know what the market will
bear price wise, but the 10-18 is an "oldie". i think off hand in the very early 1900's, like 12 or so. i find it amazing that it will crank, let alone run, but id be interested in the tractor if youre not. please keep me updated.
good luck, grapeape.

I did decide to buy it yesterday. It did start after many tries and ran. Thats the end of the
good news. It began to stall and smoke like crazy.
After about 4 min, it stopped. I havent got it going
again. The spark plugs were VERY old. I dont think
the owner had used it for 30 years.

The next step is take a tape recorder and get as much history of the tractor as possible. The owner may have known the original owner and may be related to him. If not, find out the past owners and how and where the tractor was used. It would be nice if tractors could talk. The history is the other side of the coin. Enjoy!
