Brought her home two days ago after she set in a shed for 5 years. She was stuck. Poured tranny in the plug holes and today she turned over. Compression on all but one. Took valve cover off and she had a stuck exhaust valve. Worked with it a while and it started working. Compression on all four now. It has a magneto.
How can I tell if it is firing?

I have a 1941 Model C. I had a lot of trouble in the springtime with the magneto. Is it in a dry environment? Pull the cover off and look to see if the comtacts are green. Wipe that stuff off and try cranking it again.

Pull one plug and then hold it on the engine some place. Then turn the engine over a few times. If its fireing you should see a spark if not then you probably will need to check/clean the points which are probably bad. If you need more help with the mag drop me an e-mail and I'll send you a manual for the mag I have one in my computer some one else sent me so when I can I pass it on to others

As per the I-T manual you set the points at .020. As far as that manual you need to send me an e-mail first so I can then send you the manual. Just click on my name and it will then take you to a place to be able to e-mail me. My e-mail is always open when I post
