16.9x28's will go on the stock rim fine, make the tractor look bigger, had 2 45's with them on, had loaders on both, big improvement over the smaller tires. Wouldn't know what a set would cost now.

Late 45's had 13 in rims & 14.9's are a natural. I guess early 45's had 12 in rims like the old WD's & they had 13.6's. They kind of look too small on a 45 with the higher fender brackets to accomodate the 14.9's. Had a neighbor put 16.9's on a 45 but he used the 15 in rims from a 17. Looked good. I think he did have to cut away a little of the back corner of the fenders.

Standard on the WD45 was 12 inch tire (oversize on the WD). Oversize on the WD45 was the 13 inch. Early or late did not matter- could order either standard or oversize, same thing with the earlier WD- 11 was standard, 12 was oversize. 16.9, the new size marking, was common on D17 tractors- another step up to handle the extra hp and provide the needed traction.

On stock rims they would be to wide to work/look good. I think max would be 14,9 on stock rims but the 13.9 work real good. New 13.9X28 will still cost around $300 each monuted if not a little more
