I can't get the clutch to adjust properly. The clutch has been completely rebuilt with new springs, new disk facings;and new throughout bearing. I can put the tractor in gear and roll it around quite easily around the shop. No matter how I adjust the clutch adjusting nut the clutch will not engage. When I put the gear shift into gear it doesn't feel abnormal. I'm stumped...where do I go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is not your current problem, but many folks do not know that you should lock down the clutch for extended storage.

NE IA Dave: Locking the clutch in during storage is a good idea. I do this to prevent the clutch from sticking during storage. Thanks.

BCuT: Thank you for the information relating to my clutch problem. I will check out the possibility of a clutch disk being in backwards.

BCuT: The disk was in correctly. The only abnormal thing I found was that the clutch lever heights were a long ways out of tolerance, and no two clutch lever heights were the same. One lever was over 200 thousandths out of tolerance! Will take it back to the rebuilder. I appreciate the information. I would welcome any further ideas you might have to correct the problem. Thanks.
