Have A/C WD 6 volt, 4 cyl gas with ponts. Govenor came apart broke cam gear teeth. Installed new cam gear match the dots up with crank gear. My question is how do I match the governor gear to the cam gear? If there is no dot how do I get my distibutor timing right? How do you time a wd if there is no timing mark on the crank pulley? What cylinder is Number 1?

thank you very much in advance for you knowledge and help

I don't understand why you need to "time" the governor gear. The distributor can be "timed" by meshing it's gear with the drive gear on the end of the governor. Number 1 cylinder is the first cylinder; the one at front of tractor. The timing marks are on the flywheel and visible through the inspection cover on bottom of flywheel housing. There are 2 marks: Top Dead Center and "F" (advance). Use "F" mark if timing with a timing light. ' Hope this helps.
