for the tips everybody.I've taken the block to hopefully be repaired.Droped the head off to be worked and tested for cracks.Trying to find out what the rod and main bearings are from.Because it sure isn't from a D-17.I've called the guy I bought it from,trying to get info on what's in the motor.He hasn't called me back.

i have a leroi centaur. but i thought the blocks were six cylinder for the back two cylinders to compress air. i know the lp manifold and head will work on a 226 allis but some of the leroi heads actually had combustion chambers in the head itself. hadnt looked at the old leroi in two years. kinda got my interest up in smoking it over again just for memory sake.

I THINK I read some time ago that LE-ROI had a working relationship and made engines for A/C an A/C made for LE-ROI.Some one post and strighten me out if I am wrong as I make mistakes every day.CENTAUR

This is strickly from memory and I may be right/part right/totaly wrong,--- Allis bought Lr-roi and the first Allis diesels were at least Le-roi engineered or made.
