I have had it with this CA model. Last couple of weeks, I had a crash course on how to set the timing and magneto timing until it fired up. Now, I got it working and after a few hours of work, it suddenly stop. It does not move backward or forward. I tried to pull it with the truck to move it closer to the house and it won't move at all. The engine runs and the pto runs. I can change gears but it won't move at all. Any suggestions. Desparate, San Antonio, TX.

Did the brakes ever get looked at? I have one tractor you don't dare ever touch the brakes or you will never get it moving for another couple hours! Check to see the bands are loose on both sides, if they are rusted a guy can unsieze them with wd-40. otherwise I would drain fluid form the rear end and look for metal bits. Has to be something. maybe a loose bolt in the gears? try pulling it backwards too?

Good luck. Greatwest

Could the truck make it roll or did the wheels lock up? Sounds to me like the hand clutch is slipping.

The hand clutch was my first thought but if it was he would have been able to move it.I was thinking that it wouldnt move because the wheels wouldnt turm. I could have been wrong thinking without facts.

My Guess Would Be in reply to Armando Ramirez, 08-21-2007 17:39:03
That it would be a shifting fork problem. You will have to drain out the oil and take the side plate off. To move it to a better place you most likely can slide the gears to where the forks line up and drive it to where you can repair the forks. You should be able to see the problem with the side plate in your hands. You might have to go deeper if after you have it back together it then pops out of gear.
