I just received a set of piston rings for a WD tractor. The set was made by TISCO and set number PRS120. I found that the new compression
rings are not as thick as the old ones and can be
moved up and down in the ring grooves. The oil rings
are too wide and do not fit. Is this normal???
Is this the wrong set???
Please help!!

Sounds like you may have a set of aftermarket pistons
with different ring widths than standard A-C. Apparently your tractor has been overhauled once before
It's an unusual WD that hasn't had at least one overhaul in it's lifetime.
Good luck finding what you need. TED

It appears to be the wrong set for the pistons you have. The ring set you have is for their overbore piston. (4" to 4 1/8"). Have your dealer contact them with the sizes you need. (ie Piston diameter, and the width of each groove.)

I took the rings back and they happened to have the right set on the shelf. The right set ended up being
$18 less than the wrong one. Thanks!
