Hi my uncle has an Alice Chalmers grader, I am looking for some information on this tractor. I think that it might be a 1947, but I could be wrong. Any help would be apreciated.

I've used this one I have for about 15 years now. My drive way is a mile long and then I also have to keep up my moms drive which adds another 1/2 mile of drive and it does a good job but almost takes 8 arms to use it. LOL. What it really is, is a WC tractor that Allis cut the front ends off and then added a longer front and a wide heavy duty axle to. The added the blade and hand wheels. Almost all WC parts will fit other then steering and most of that is the same also

I have never used it for any work, just to drive it around, I would like to see it painted and restored because from what ive been told they are fairly rare. Round here anyway. We need to pull one of the tires and wheels off to fix the nonexistent brake.

To fix the brakes you don't pull the wheel off there band brakes and can be installed from the top. Parts for fixing the brakes are HIGH at around $100 per band, I checked into that a couple years ago because mine has only one working brake on it.

If it is for sure a 1947 it would have to be a WC Speed Patrol. See my web site for a picture of one. I own a 1947 WC SP which is pictured in my web site

Is it a full size grader or one made from a tractor with a longer frame on the front? Allis made different models of both types.
