ust bought a solid old m11 series B. It came with a couple of old batteries on a 24 V system. They were hooked up positive ground. Before putting new batteries in I wanted to make sure that this is really a positive ground system. Can anyone help? Also I need a good market for AC heavy equipment parts. I talked to Pat Kelly Eq. in St. Louis. The guy there was nice enough but didn't sound real excited to deal with that old a machine. Any Advice. Thanks.

I've used it about 10 hours to cut ditches and grade in a road base. It seems like a really solid old machine. It tends to kick out of low range when there's slack in the drive line and the turn table will spin ocassionally, but I'm really happy with it so far. Now I need brakes. That will probably be a big challenge. It looks like a hydraulic assist on the cylinder. I still need a good source for parts if anyone can help.

Allis-Chalmers used positive ground until they started equipping their equipment with alternators.
