Get an airhose and put some light pressure to the gear cases.

Go around with a piece of siphon hose with one end to your ear and probe with the other listening for the areas that vent.

I have the same problem, but do not have any known leaks into any of the gearboxes on any of the many tractors that I have.I believe the problem is the result of condensation. When the gear oil and casing heats up it pushes hot air out or the vent.On the other hand when when all that mass cools off a slight vacuum is formed and moisture laiden air is drawn into the trans.or diff..This moisture is then condensed on ihe inner surfaces of the castings. The two tractors that cause the most problem for me are Case 1175 and 580B backhoe loader because they are the most used.I am surely not bothered with rain water leakage, because we have'nt had any.Just a hint. You need not discard the emulsified oil if you have a covered container in which to store the used oil.If you have the patience to wait several months the water will all settle and you will have nice clean oil to draw off from the surface.I am not certain about the design of your 1030 gear box but can tell you that I cannot ever completely remove all of the oil from my 1175/;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

I was having a problem like that on my 830. On the right hand side of mine, on the upper left of the bell housing was an access plate (to what, I'm not sure, because there's not much in there, but it was part of the transmission oil chamber). A dip in the casting caused it to catch water on top. On the 830 it's right under the battery tray, but I don't know what it's under on a 6 cylinder. It had a bad gasket, but I thought, "hey, it's vertical, how much water could get in?" until I noticed the dip in the casting, and how it pooled water against the gasket. I'd call that a design mistake, and I'm seriously thinking about cutting out a new cover plate to replace the stock one to let the water drain. With a new gasket on it, I'll see if it improves the water situation -- if only we had any rain to test it with! The moral is don't ignore the gaskets on the sides of the tranny. Some of them can let in as much water as the top ones.

That was probably confusing. When I say "upper left of the bell housing" I mean when looking at it from the right side, you have the engine on your right, and tranny on your left. Should have said upper rear.
