I have 2 1200 tk tractors with crab steering.Problem is?Do you have to throttle it up to get the crab to move,or should they move with ease in a low throttle?Am haveing problems with both and just wanted to know what I should expect with this steering or what I could check to help steer easier? Thanks for any advice you can offer.Dave A

It should steer fine on an idle or just above. The oil supply for steering is NOT the hydraulic fluid. Check owners manual or fill up transmission/dropbox to full. I had same problem. Filled up the boxes and steers like a BMW.

First I would check the suction screen which is before the steering/transmission pump to see if it clean, there is also a filter on top of the transmission you may want to check. Otherwise there are two relief valves in the system one is on the rear steer valve which is on the left side by the rear of the engine, the other is for the front steering and is under the radiator. It may take shimming up both to get proper operation as there is a priority valve that diverts the flow.

Have you replaced or cleaned filters (hyd) if they have any? Also could be low on fluid if leaks are apparent. Worst case senario is a tired pump. LE
