Has anyone found a source for the 1/2 inch rubber dowels (or a suitable substitute) that go in the belt pulley assembly? I've been using wooden oak dowels, but I have to replace them every couple of years. I use the tractor at several shows during the year running saw mills and threshers.

McMaster Carr has the stuff. They call it neoprene wire or rope, you buy it in length and cut it into the pieces you need.

I cut high pressure hose into pieces the right length put them in the pulley and drive a wooden dowel into them. I thresh with the tractor and havent had to replace the hose bushings.
