Just curious. I have the eagle mag, and it seems to work fine. Might need the points cleaned up. Can parts still be found for these? Is there an advantage to switching to distributor? What distributor is compatable with my tractor? Also thought about converting to 12 volt. Do I have to change the mag for this too? I"m sure more questions will follow later, but that"s enough for now. Thank you all.

If it works my moto is not to mess with it. Parts for Case mags are not that common. Other mags can be used. If you stick with the mag there is no issue with converting to 12v. If you want to go distributor the right angle drive version from Farmall M and H and some Allis" will fit easily.
Delco Remy Model 1111411 is on my DC. You will have to decide on a 6v or 12v coil.

Thank you for the info. I agree with the "Ain"t broke, don"t fix" philosophy. I just wondered what the advantage was, if any, since I had seen tractors with distributor. Just wondered why bother.
