I am getting my father's 1032ck diesel 8 speed back running after 10 years of sitting on a hill. Finally, after an injection pump rebuild, she starts and runs fine but it seems as though I have no transmission. The clutch pedal seems a bit stiff, but travels without difficulty. I can shift with the engine running among all gears, in both ranges, with or without the traction clutch engaged, without any grinding or other evidence that the transmission is still there. Any advice?

Is it possible that the throwout bearing is stuck on the bearing retainer and holding the clutch in the released position? There should be a small access cover in the bellhousing for greasing the throwout bearing. Yes they do have a grease zerk on them, alot of people don't realize this. You might be able to take a flashlight and look in there and tell if that is the problem. If that is the cause I don't know if spraying it with something like WD40 would help or not I am sure it would take spraying over a several day period before it might brak loose and return to the engaged position. Good luck.
