A buddy has a chance to get a 611B for a song. Is this a good tractor? Any problems with them? Weaknesses? Are wide fronts available? Do any other models wide fronts interchange? Any info would be helpfull, the fact I know it is a 611B is the extent my knowledge in this matter.

Generally they're pretty good. It should have live power and at least 1 set of remote hydraulics. The case-o-matic drive will allow you to do things that you can't do with a dry clutch. Since this a torque converter drive system you can't slip the clutch with the foot pedal. If attempted it's like doing a neutral drop with your car. You accomplish that with the throttle. Also the main source of trouble is the case-o-matic drive. If the case-o-matic pressure is OK(check the gauge under the dash) and the direct drive engages(left hand lever on the dash)the case-o-matic is probably OK. All the engine engine stuff kind of speaks for itself, runs good, no water in the oil, or oil in the water and so on. My grandfather had one with a wide front that had over 2500 hours on it when it was sold. The only thing ever done to it was a valve job. I would think the front end off of a 300, 400, 500, 430, 530, and 630 would fit without significant modification. Where are you located I may want it if you don't.
