Saw one last weekend.
The front tires were sunk into the ground, seat was rotted away but, all sheet metal looked good.
Even had the eagle on the grill.
BUT THE OWNER WOULD NOT SELL.

Uh, it is his, if he wants to keep it then he has every right to. Could be his future retirement project or something, he probably has his reasons for keeping it.

What a shame! I cant stand when people do that, they rather see it sit there and rot then sell it to someone who might use it or restore it. Most individuals like this bozo are just afraid that somebody is going to make a dollar on them.

You missed the point. Why let it rot? Let someone else enjoy it. If it really means that much to you by it belonging to your father or grandfather then let it be resurected and allow it to bring joy to them like it did to you and others. To allow stuff to sit around, detieriate SP? and rust and rot to the ground show's me that you really don't care about it. As far as "yuppies" wanting to buy your "lawn decorations" I dont think the gentalman that started this thread is a "yuppie", sound like a man that knows and enjoys old case's! You sir, sound like a miserable old hermit that has no friends and when you die your next of kin will probably take all of your lawn decor and sell it for scrap.
