Hi all,
I found a complete, unrestored 18-32 for sale and the price seems resonable so far. My problem is that it's several states away and I've only seen one picture of it. I want to be able to call the owner and talk to him about it. I know a few basic tractor questions that I should ask but I don't know enough about the crossmotors to ask specific questions about that model. Can anyone offer some help. My email is open too.

Thanks for your time!

Hey engineer- I thought I remembered seeing some manifold reproductions out there so I checked and take a look at this page for rosewood machine. I've never ordered from them personally but the parts sure look nice.

If my link doesn't work copy and paste this into your browser: Link

I would'nt let a cracked or broke manifold stop me from buying a crossmotor Case. george md (you can find him over at Tool Talk ) repair's things like that. Check out some of his repairs.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't let it stop me from buying it. But it would have an effect on how much I'd pay for it...

I'd ask about the condition of the intake and exhaust manifolds (not broken or cracked), the air washer unit (present and not rusted out at the bottom). Of course, all of the usual questions about the engine being stuck or not, compression, cracked block or head, etc.

18-32s make for nice show pieces. If the price is right, and it truly is complete, then it's worth the effort. IMHO

I don't know much about crossmotors but I have seen quite a few posts about broken manifolds, be sure to ask about that. Some others can give you more information.
