Does anyone know the exact compression ratio for DC with the MW domed pistons with a 5505 cyl head? I was told the old MW books gave this info for each head #. I know guys are doing this and i was just wondering how many pounds of comp it gives you. I dont want to have to run high dollar fuel. thanks

I don't know what my compression was, but pistons were 4 1/16, low compr. as they didn't come to top of block. got over 55 pto hp, with 5505 head, put a propane head, got over 65 hp. would like to put flat top(top of block) pistons.

We just did a compression test on a newly rebuilt engine with M&W's with a 5505 head that was machined down about 0.100". It tested a strong 155# but runs well on regular gas.

My M/W book shows one listing, and does not show what head is used. Sp108 kit is 4 1/16 doomed [verses 3 7/8 ]pistons, Makes a 259 ci a 284ci. Observed belt hp is 52.5 from a 37.3. Compression is 6.7 from a stock 5.6. So using regular pump gas is no big deal at all. Don L.
