For the past several years, the powershift needs to warm up before using it. It would shift into 2nd and 3rd, but not back to 1st. Now when we start the tractor, we can't push in the clutch without killing the tractor. When we shift, it labors in all speeds, but seems worse in 1st and 3rd. I uderstand this may be do to age and wear, but I would like to know if there is anything I can do to help improve this problem. Also, we lost hyd. pressure the other day when plowing. We have good pressure when the tractor is cool. I'm thinking the pump is going bad. The oil level is good, and the filters are fine.

I have never seen a powershift woreout. You have one or more problems that need to be fixed. Start tractor and get it warmed up. Leave 4 speed in nuetral. Run powershift thru the 3 speeds and reverse. In each gear look at trans. pressure on gage in dash. If you see low pressure in one or more gears you have leak in your powershift. This will be your hydralic problem. The powershift has prioity over the remotes. If your powershift is leaking more than your pump is puting out then there is nothing left to work your remotes. If your powershift has been leaking for a long time you have warped plates in one or more clutch packs . This is why the motor labors when you try to shift gears . Get the powershift overhauled and everything should work. Anymore questions just ask Iwill try to help. Stan

sounds to me you have one or more of the spring returned valves in the PS valve sticking or stuck that why the moter kills when you push in clutch the screen in the bottom of the tranny will pass metal pieces though it if you have metal floating around check for this by pulling screen if excessive start at pto and keep looking till you find the source of metal have had them do this and all I had to do was get valves unstuck polish remove cap on valve and spring then insert I think it's a 10-28 screw to pull valve check for small metal shaving's flush valve with hyd oil if valve is still on tractor pull kill out crank engine to flush that port
