can the pto be fixed by just taking it off to see whats wrong? (on a 411b). been worked on twice in the years doesn't do much but sit most of the time. tried adjusting it. didin't do any good seems to snap in pretty good.what would something like that cost to take to shop. (ballpark)

thanx guys. sounds like a good winter project for awhile. just have to get it off tractor thats outside and run back into a preheated workshop/garage.doesn't sound like it would be to hard. MAN would that be the cat's meow if i can get that fixed. thanx

Hi Gary, I had what sounds like the problem with my 411. If you take the unit off and seperate the front and back pieces it will give you access to the inside. You will have to take the bolts out and also be sure to look for the flat head screws under the gasket. It won"t want to come apart with them in. The PTO lever works the slide clutch thru to clevises with pins in them. In my case one of the pins broke and so only one side of the clutch yoke was pushing the clutch. Its not too hard of a fix or too ecpensive. Good luck and hope this helps. Steve

I understand if it's a case-o thier different(2 shafts see above post)but there is not a lot in there. worst scenero is busted shaft. get it all out, cut it flush get it pinned and welded-back in biz. Wayne
