Could someone tell me what the best way to go if I want to upgrade my 300 to a 12 volt starter. I was looking to exchange it for one listed for a 300B. I'm thinking they will interchange. The starter is about shot so now is the time. Thanks, Steve

Look in your yellow pages and take it down to your local Starter/Alternator rebuild shop and let them rebuild it for you. You will end up with a like new starter for about half the price of trying to buy a new or rebuilt one for the 311 from Case other other parts houses. The starter doesn't care wherther it sees 6V or 12V.

Sorry John, Don and all you others out there. PA Steve asked for a solution.

Whenever possible always rebuild the starter, generator, alt. ect. that you have before you buy a rebuilt unit. I deal with a local shop that does good, honest work. I shy away from vendor rebuilds unless my core is completely trashed.
