I own a 1070 and like the tractor well enough. I have had a lot of trouble with the power brake system master cylinder. The problem comes from an engineering flaw. They decided to use one oil system for the transmission, power brakes, hydraulic and the power steering. There are two separate filters, one for the transmission, and the other for the hydraulic system. I think one is 10 micron, and the other is 5 micron, but don't hold me to that. I buy WIX filters from my automotive dealer, and change them more frequently then the book recommends. I have rebuilt the master cylinder myself, taken it in for the local dealer to rebuild, and I still am always concerned. It has been out at least 5 times in the last 150 hours. This is not fun, considering it takes a couple hours to remove and replace. I now keep a spare on hand just in case. The real issue w/powershift is that, if it is adjusted to shift smoothly w/no load, then it may be a little jerky under full load, and vica-verca. Also, if you try a rear snow blower, even the low range reverse is pretty fast. But, otherwise, pretty good!

A 1070 is a fine tractor. It has a large motor for the HP and they hold up well. The Powershift is almost always jerky and not well liked by most, but fairly dependable. It will cost about 4500.00 to rebuild a Powershift unit,if needed, according to Link Implement in Ridgeland, WI.
