Did Case ever offer as optional equipment Roll-O Matic front axles similar to what many JD tricycle type had as Standard Equipment ?

While I have never operated a tractor equipped with roll-a-matic, I can see how it may smooth things out a bit. However I have heard many a Deere fan comment they are a high maintenance item.

J,

I heard or read, maybe even dreamed, lol that the inventer first went to IH who didn't buy and then went to Deere. The rest "is history". All those decals would be a mouth full huh. Case o matic roll o Matic diesel.

You are correct. IH did install a couple of the roll-a-matics on the Farmall B or C for testing purposes. The IH boys determined that it wasn't worth the effort, and declined to buy it, so the inventor then went to John Deere, and like someone said, the rest is history. BUT, I still consider the invention to be nothing more than a gimmick, I have driven identical Deeres, some equipped with roll-a-matic, others without it, and I honestly can not tell the difference in either ride quality or ease of steering.

Hey J. That rollamatic front end on J.D. was the best idea they ever had and I would just about bet the farm that it was patented to the hilt. Sure wish I had one on my old WC Harry Case

Thanx Gene ,, Forgive my Chuckle ,, Kinda reminds me of Leon Clausen claiming that Case tractors burn so clean and were built to such precise tolerances that OIL FILTERS were UNnECESSARY .True ,But normal wear and abuse can occur , MR. Clausen ..... ... The Reality is that Rolla Matic really Does prevent a Manual steering wheel from spinning Wildly from your hands when jumping over a plow furrow ,,And It seams to me that All tractor manufactures would at least offer that as an option , I do not think that JD had an exclusive patent for this , And I think I have seen FARMALLS with this and D -17as well .. Just WONDERING ,. Thanx for the reply ,Jim
