Also I would like to know what is the small pump for in side between the bell housing and the low gear/shuttle box. It has a fitting on the top of the cover. knot sure what it dos or ware it gos. Also looking for g188d diesel engine. Sins my engine needs to rebuilt I'm thinking of replacing it a diesel. THANKS

I"m not a expert but I had a 210B and the pump supplied the front loader on mine. 188"s are approx two inches longer than your 126 gas. The 126 can have 148 pistons & liners. Engine to bellhousing is different even for later model 148 gas engines. You have two bolts holding starter and 148B (later model) has three. Thats how I tell them apart. Best, Dennis...

Brian, I'd do a bit of investigating into that engine swap before I bought a motor...bell housing bolt pattern is a difficult thing to change on an engine...My Dad had a 450 Dozer w/188 in it...seems as if the bolt pattern was a lot bigger than the pattern on the back of the 148 in my 310b...not saying it won't work, but haven't seen too many attempts...
