My 83 year old father-in-law has a '59 Case 211-B. Last fall whilst using it to pull a bush hog it started making engine noises so he parked it. I asked him to get it to my shop so I could take a look at, but he refused. This spring he started using it again to pull a planter when it started making so much noise out the front of the engine he had to shut it down. At that point he asked me to take a look at it. Upon digging into the engine I found the oil pump to be inoperative - the oil pump drive shaft had broken. The strange part is this: upon pulling some bearing caps, I found the main and rod bearings to be in perfect shape, no abnormal wear at all, ditto the crankshaft. The reason being he never used this tractor to do any heavy pulling, just planters, bush hogs, etc. Could it be that I'm missing something?
