We're working on a 1951 Case VAC-12 that has presented a bit of a technical problem. We got the PTO to work just fine, but the belt pulley doesn't ever engage. What drives the belt pulley and what should we look at now to get it working?

There is a set screw on the housing that you have to back out. Then the pulley will slide in to engage the gear on the main shaft that runs to the transmission. When you slide it in you may have to turn it slightly to be sure that the gears mesh. Then you can tighten the set screw back. It goes into a recess in the sleeve in either position. Good luck.
